Humanist Crafternoon: Visible Mending

In celebration of Earth Month, we’re going to learn how to mend our clothes - with a little personal touch!

Visible mending is a term that refers to mends or repairs that are meant to be seen. It’s a fun way to add a little personal flair to your clothing, while ensuring that item of clothing lasts a little longer (thus reducing our clothing waste!).

During this Crafternoon event, we’ll learn how to use simple embroidery techniques to give our clothing a new life.

What to bring: any piece of clothing (or even an accessory, like a hat or glove) that needs a little care. The techniques we’ll learn can help mend a hole or tear, cover a stain, or simply give new life to an otherwise fine piece of clothing. Don’t have anything that fits those categories? No problem! We’ll have extra fabric on hand so you can still learn the techniques.

Thread, needles, scissors, etc will be supplied by CNYHA.
